Duplex fire in Ceres displaces five children and 10 adults, officials say
A duplex fire in Ceres displaced 10 adults and five children Tuesday, according to the Modesto Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the 1900 block of Glen Ridge Drive in Ceres at about 3:15 p.m. to a report of a house fire. An MFD firetruck was less than an eighth of a mile away and responded quickly, MFD stated.
Firefighters found two separate two-story buildings on fire, which displaced the families living in them. A total of 15 people were forced to relocate.
The American Red Cross responded to help the displaced.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigation Unit.
