The motorcyclist killed Saturday night in a crash on Coffee Road at Spanos Court in Modesto has been identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office as Brandon Ray Oliver, 28, of Modesto.

According to a Meal Train page set up to help his family, Oliver was the married father of four young children. “(T)he next few weeks I’m hoping to get help by getting some meals for them so it’s one less thing (his wife) Alyssa needs to worry about,” organizer Sara Brandon, a friend of Alyssa’s, wrote on the page. “Many have asked how to help this is a good way! Brandon was their sole provider and life without him is going to be difficult.”

Sara Brandon also set up a gofundme.com page, titled “The Oliver Children,” on which she wrote, “Brandon loved being a father and was exceptional at it. He loved riding his motorcycle, dirt biking, and playing with his kids. Please continue with prayers as this family learns to live without Brandon.”

The crash happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. in front of Memorial Medical Center, but Oliver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The preliminary investigation by the Modesto Police Department indicates Oliver was northbound on Coffee when a sedan traveling south turned left onto Spanos Court. The motorcycle struck the car on the passenger side.

The driver of the sedan stayed at the scene and was cooperative.

Witnesses to this collision are encouraged to contact traffic safety Officer Randy Raduechel at raduechelr@modestopd.com.
