A Denair man who died in a three-vehicle crash outside of Hughson last week has been identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.

On the afternoon of Sept. 8, Andres Jimenez, 21, was driving a Nissan east on Whitmore Avenue, east of Waring Road, when the car drifted into the westbound lane and collided with a Ford, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The left front of the Nissan struck the left front of the Ford, sending the Nissan spinning into the path of a Toyota behind the Ford. The front of the Toyota struck the right side of the Nissan.

Jimenez, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, 47-year-old Avelino Araiza of La Grange, suffered major injuries. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.
