‘Horrendous’-looking crash on Coffee Road in Modesto sends four patients to hospital
A three-vehicle crash on Coffee Road in Modesto on Monday night sent four people to hospitals, one with moderate injuries, three others with minor injuries, according to the Modesto Fire Department.
The collision, at the East Orangeburg Avenue intersection, looked “horrendous,” especially for one on city streets, Battalion Chief Andrew Hunter said. Two vehicles rolled over and the third was on its side, he said.
The crash occurred about 9:30 p.m., Police Department spokeswoman Sharon Bear said. A westbound vehicle on Orangeburg broadsided a northbound vehicle on Coffee. The westbound vehicle then rolled over and struck a third vehicle, she said.
Details on the vehicles and identities of the occupants were not immediately available Tuesday morning. Bear said an initial report called the crash a hit-and-run, but that could not be immediately confirmed.
We’ll have more as information is available.
