Turlock man killed in solo motorcycle crash on Highway 132 outside of Waterford
A Turlock man was killed in a solo motorcycle accident Friday afternoon east of Waterford, according to the California Highway Patrol
At about 4:06 p.m. Friday, CHP officers responded to a report of a traffic collision on Highway 132, just west of Crabtree Road just outside of Roberts Ferry. When emergency personnel arrived they discovered a male adult and motorcycle lying on the north shoulder off the highway.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 63-year-old man from Turlock, succumb to his injuries at the scene, according to the CHP report. His identity has not bee released pending notification of his family.
The CHP report said the preliminary investigation found the rider was traveling westbound on Highway 132, approaching a left bend in the roadway. For unknown reasons, the report said, the rider’s motorcycle left the paved roadway and entered the north dirt shoulder. The rider then lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle, landing on the shoulder, authorities said.
It is unknown at this time if drugs and/or alcohol contributed to this collision, according to CHP. The westbound lane of Highway 132 was briefly closed as authorities were on scene. The investigation is ongoing.
