What are California’s least popular national parks? These spots had fewest visits
California is home to some of the “very best” national parks in the United States, according to travel experts.
In 2025, the top national parks, seashores and historic sites in California each attracted more than a million visitors, according to the National Park Service.
Yosemite National Park drew 4.2 million visitors in 2025, while Golden Gate National Recreation Area recorded a whopping 15.7 million visits.
In contrast, the least popular national park in California reported fewer than 300,000 visitors in 2025.
One national monument failed to bring in 5,000 people, and a national memorial attracted fewer than 800 visitors.
