Capitol Corridor returns to full service. See updated schedules, departure times

Looking to visit family and friends for the holidays? Want to avoid long drives?

Capitol Corridor is returning to full service for the first time in more than five years, the intercity rail service announced in a Dec. 2 news release.

“Riders will see additional service, more travel flexibility and improved reliability across the entire route,” Capitol Corridor said in the release, “marking a major milestone in the region’s post-pandemic recovery.”

Starting Monday, Dec. 8, the rail service will offer 15 weekday round trips — with 30 weekday trains and 22 weekend trains — in a return to pre-coronavirus pandemic levels, the release said.

Additionally, Capitol Corridor said it’s making improvements to on-time performance with later morning and evening trains and later weekend service between Sacramento and Roseville stations.

“This is a big moment for our riders and our communities,” Rob Padgette, Capitol Corridor managing director, said in the release. “Returning to full service means better travel options and better reliability.”
