Ranch nearly the size of a town can be yours for $65M, including a California beach
A fairly large oasis on California’s coast in Santa Barbara has hit the market for $65 million. While the price might seem a tad extreme, the features are breathtaking.
“A private quarter mile beach at the heart of a wildly diverse landscape: 219 acres envisioned as centers of community as diverse as two Chumash villages, a cattle ranch, a racehorse Mecca, an agricultural wonder, and an institute of cultural enrichment,” the listing on Sotheby’s International Realty says. “Notable owners have chosen different ways to mine the onsite riches of sand, ocean, views, residences, historical structures, farming, commercial operations, tax considerations, patronage possibilities, and family legacy options.”
It’s called Rancho Dos Pueblos, a name that refers to “two Chumash villages situated on either side of what is now Dos Pueblos Creek,” a Sotheby’s news release notes. Altogether, the property could be considered its own town due to its size and how many residences it boasts. The property includes:
Mansion called ”Casa Grande”
A three-bedroom, three-bathroom ranch house
“A collection of smaller residences”
Multiple crops
Stables
Farmland
“When you visit you’ll develop a love for how something newly imagined by you will become a part of the story of this historically extraordinary spot,” the listing says.
The listing is held by Steve Moritz with Sotheby’s International Realty – Brentwood Brokerage, Nancy Kogevinas with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties and George Logan with 22 West Realtors.
