Ceres police ID suspect in fatal shooting
A 27-year-old man died from what was described as “at least one gunshot wound” early Saturday as Ceres police continued their search for the shooter late into the afternoon.
According to a news release from the Ceres Police Department, a call was received just after midnight reporting that a man had been shot in the 2100 block of Mitchell Road at Latinos Bar. Officers arrived and found the victim, who was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Ceres police investigators were able to identify Rigoberto Cisneros, 36, of Empire as a suspect in the shooting, according to the news release. Cisneros’ whereabouts remained unknown as of late Saturday afternoon as investigators continued to follow up on leads.
