Need a getaway? Sacramento International Airport is adding nonstop red-eye flights to four big-city destinations.
Starting in March 2026, Southwest Airlines will offer direct overnight service from Sacramento to Chicago, Baltimore, Orlando and Nashville, Tennessee, the Sacramento airport accounced Thursday, Aug. 28, in a Facebook post.
The new cross-country routes will “help you make the most of your time and connect across the country (and beyond),” the Sacramento airport told travelers in the post.
Sacramento International Airport, which is undergoing a $1.3 billion expansion project, offers more than 150 daily direct flights on 12 airlines to about three dozen destinations in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
In June, the Sacramento airport had its busiest month ever, with 1.3 million passengers passing through its terminals, The Sacramento Bee previously reported.
Sacramento’s airport served a record 13.8 million passengers over the course of the fiscal year that ended June 30.

One-way plane tickets start as low as $246, according to the Southwest Airlines website.

Nonstop flights to Nashville on Southwest Airlines start on Thursday, March 5.
Service from Sacramento to Nashville International Airport will be available daily.
Flights leave California at 11:05 p.m. and land in Tennessee at 5:05 a.m. the following morning, according to Southwest Airlines.

Where can I park at Sacramento airport?
Sacramento International Airport offers a number of options for parking your car on-site for a half-hour or longer, The Sacramento Bee previously reported.
All available lots can be used for short-term and long-term parking, according to the airport, and you can check parking space availability online.
A parking garage and daily lot just off Airport Boulevard offer parking spaces that are within walking distance of Terminal A.
There are more than 5,200 spots in the main parking garage and 3,000 spots in the daily lot, according to Sacramento County Department of Airports spokesperson Scott Johnston.
A larger economy lot just east of Aviation Drive has roughly 6,000 spots available.
The airport recently opened a new economy lot with 3,000 parking spots at the south frontage road near AM-PM and Arco gas station. There’s also an economy lot west of Terminal B with 3,300 parking spaces. That’s used as an overflow lot when the main parking lots are full.
You can park at the parking garage and all parking lots for $2 per half-hour, the airport said. Overnight airport parking ranges from $11 to $20 per day.
