County retirees live modestly

I would like to thank Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeff Grover for his statements in his State of Stanislaus address: "I ask you not to lose sight of the fact that the vast majority of Stanislaus County's employees and retirees are and were hardworking, honest, diligent members of our community who will spend their retirement years living on very modest pensions."

It was gratifying to see the "vast majority living on modest pensions" recognized instead of just a select few who receive a lot of publicity. And yes, there are policies that need to change for the long-term health and integrity of the retirement system but the "vast majority" have not benefited from those policies.
