It was a dream come true for Mexican singer Erick Aragón – better known as Codiciado – as he performed Saturday at the Save Mart Center with his ‘Ando Enfocado US Tour.’

“From the bottom of my heart, Fresno, thank you very much for what you did tonight. Thank you, God, for allowing me to return with you to follow the dream I started 8 years ago,” Codiciado told his fans.

He arrived in Fresno in 2013, worked at El Pescador seafood restaurant, worked in the fields, at Aldo’s Nightclub and Los Arcos, another nightclub. The 31-year-old singer said humility comes first to him and that he will never forget where he came from.

“Here in Fresno, California was where I became a man. Here I woke up, I said to hell, love is real, you have to work because my girl was in diapers,” said the singer.

Fresno welcomed him back with open arms with his solo tour and his first performance in the arena that brought tears to his eyes.

“It’s a dream for me what’s happening tonight,” said Codiciado on stage. “I came back older, but with a lot of heart, eager to get ahead like all of you.”

“Dreams come true, and I will not get tired of saying it. I came back after five (explicit) years to see my daughter,” said Codiciado, who couldn’t travel to the United States for years after losing his visa. “I love you mamí.”

Codiciado welcomed his daughter to the stage, where she stayed on the side to watch the entire concert.

Codiciado’s voice broke, and tears came out as he told the audience “This is amazing.”

Supporting local talent

“But today I am going to extend a cordial invitation and welcome to a friend who has been working hard for years, and who sings with a lot of feeling, she sings very beautifully, and I want you to support her because she is from these parts of Visalia,” Codiciado in introducing regional Mexican singer Alejandra Rojas.

Codiciado said dreams come true and he always tries to help people achieve them.

“I am 100% grateful,” Rojas said of the invitation. “I love you; I adore you and I admire you.”

The Tijuana-born singer, who is bringing his live show to major cities across the nation, is paving the way for the new regional wave.

Codiciado, who launched his solo career in 2021 after transitioning from being part of a group, has released a string of chart-topping hits, including “Bélico El Asunto” in collaboration with Grupo Arriesgado and the viral sensation “Vamos Aclarando Muchas Cosas,” with more than 201 million YouTube views.
