Stassi Schroeder Reveals She Had Secret 'Falling Out' With Katie Maloney

Vanderpump Rules alum Stassi Schroeder revealed she had a falling out with Katie Maloney that lasted years - without fans knowing.

"No one knows that we had a falling out for years," Schroeder, 37, told Marie Claire in an interview published on Monday, April 27. "Now we're rebuilding our friendship after growing in two completely different directions."

Reality TV lovers will get to see the duo work through the rift on Schroeder's upcoming Hulu show, House of Stassi.

"I don't see TV shows out there that explore how when you get to a certain age and you all choose different paths in life, how that affects your friendships and then how you come back together," she noted.

Schroeder's rare comment on the distance between her and Maloney, 40, comes after years of speculation about their friendship. Schroeder and Maloney were close when Vanderpump Rules premiered in 2013, but they faced ups and downs on screen.

While they seemed to stay friendly after Schroeder's firing from the show in 2020, eagle-eyed followers later noticed that the pair were not spending as much time together as they had in the past.

"I need to step in here," Schroeder wrote in the comments section of a TikTok video in 2024. "I'm not on Vanderpump Rules. I'm not on any team. That's not my life anymore. I have individual friendships with people. Friendships ebb & flow without it being nefarious."

Maloney, meanwhile, shut down rumors of a feud that same year.

"OK, somebody said, ‘Are you and Stassi still close?'" Kaitlyn Bristowe asked while reading fan questions during a 2024 episode of the "Off the Vine" podcast.

"Yeah, I mean, Stassi, OK, she's got two kids now," Maloney replied at the time. "While I wish we spent more time together - I think you're in a similar position where it's like, you're friends that have kids - so I think, you know, maybe once life balances out a little bit, we can spend some time together."

House of Stassi, which premieres July 29, will do a deep dive into Maloney and Schroeder's friendship - in addition to other aspects of the Vanderpump Villa star's life.

"Endlessly relatable, utterly hysterical, and questionably sane, Stassi is the anchor of a fresh ensemble of comedic and chaotic characters who are dealing with identity crises and major life crossroads of their own - and Stassi's the one who has to keep them all afloat," the show's official synopsis reads.
