David Charvet Accused of Hitting Dog With His Pickup Truck
Former Baywatch actor David Charvet is being accused of hitting a dog with his vehicle.
In an interview with TMZ published on Thursday, April 16, Vera Errico claimed she was walking her three dogs in a gated Malibu, California, community, when Charvet, 53, drove along in his pickup truck.
Just before 6 a.m. on Thursday, Errico alleged that Charvet hit one of her dogs with his vehicle and didn't stop.
Instead, she alleges the actor drove outside the gated community and believes he called the police.
Charvet's truck allegedly struck Sunday, an 11-year-old white English Labrador. Errico says she and her husband rushed their dog to the vet, where the animal was euthanized.
Us Weekly has reached out to a contact for Charvet for comment. Charvet told TMZ he had "no comment" on the matter.
The Lost Hills sheriff station, which covers parts of Malibu, confirmed to TMZ that they've been in contact with Errico. The outlet also reported that police do not consider the incident a hit-and-run since Charvet called authorities after it happened. Instead, a "traffic collision" report is being taken. (Us has reached out to police for comment.)
Charvet has a strong connection to Malibu. For starters, he is a partner in Jones Builders Group, a premier residential contractor in Los Angeles that aims to create dream homes to the highest standards with a truly personal touch.
"I may not have won an Emmy or an Oscar, but when I build these homes, I know they'll last longer - there's something special about driving through your hometown and seeing properties we've created," Charvet shared on his company's website. "The home brings everybody together. It's a stage, if you like, and it's got to be perfect."
Like many Malibu residents, Charvet was affected when wildfires threatened part of the town. In January 2025, the Palisades fire destroyed large areas of Pacific Palisades, Topanga and Malibu.
Charvet vowed to do his part to rebuild the community he respects.
"Don't get it twisted by the possible sadness in my eyes," he wrote via Instagram in February 2025. "There is a determination and a fire roaring in my soul to rebuild my city #malibu. Let's all work together and help each other!!"
Charvet is best known for his role as Matt Brody in the original Baywatch series. He went on to play Craig Field in Melrose Place between 1996 and 1998 before stepping away from acting.
"I don't miss the fame. I don't miss the workload that we had because we used to work a lot, and it's very hard to raise a family that way," Charvet told People in July 2025. "I commend all of the actors who have families that are able to balance that."
