Always a favorite, Stunt Dog Experience returns to the Gallo Center for The Arts in Modesto. The act made its first appearance there 10 years ago and has delighted audiences since. May 9-15 brings plenty more entertainment events and shows to the region, including a beer fest and jumping frogs.
Stunt Dog Experience
Always popular at the Gallo Center, Chris & Suhey Perondi return with Stunt Dog Experience. Audiences are promised “some of the most incredible stunts and behaviors ever performed by dogs — amazing tricks, big air stunts, comedy antics, dancing dogs, athletic feats,” the center’s website says. Limited tickets remained available.

Riverdance
Riverdance 30 — The Next Generation is the latest production from the Irish dance and music group, and it’s coming to the Gallo Center. The music and choreography and performances have “left audiences in awe and established Riverdance as a global cultural sensation,” the center’s website says.

Canadian Brass
Canadian Brass has received a combined 24 Grammy and Juno award nominations. The group coming to the Gallo Center has made appearances on “The Tonight Show,” “Today” and “Entertainment Tonight,” among others. The international group will perform at the Gallo Center.

Cash tribute
James Garner’s Tribute to Johnny Cash will celebrate the life and music of the legendary Man in Black at Turlock Community Theatre. Garner and his band re-create Cash’s biggest hits, including stories and personal anecdotes about the late singer-storyteller.

Awesome Spot fundraiser
The second Kids Play Fair will feature vendors, games, food, a scavenger hunt, music, skateboarding demonstrations, first responder vehicles and more. The event is geared to demonstrate what healthy play looks like among children of all abilities and ages. Proceeds and donations benefit the ongoing building of the all-inclusive Awesome Spot playground at Beyer Community Park.

Graceada Park home tour
The McHenry Museum will host the Historic Graceada Park Home Tour & Maze Family Reunion. Descendents of the Maze family will gather at one of three homes on the tour with personal historic photos and memorabilia. The homes are the Bunker House, the Harris Whiteside House and the Tillson House. Proceeds benefit the museum.

Brewfest
There will be more than 150 brews to try out at this year’s Central Valley Brewfest at the Stanislaus County Fairground in Turlock, along with vendors and music. There will be a VIP wine sampling tent from noon-1 p.m. Must be 21 or older to attend the festival.

Columbia Diggins
Columbia State Historic Park’s annual living-history event features more than 150 costumed volunteers. Visitors experience an 1852 mining camp re-created with period clothing and activities.
