Classic rock’s The Righteous Brothers have been performing since the early 1960s. Now, the multi-hit duo is on its farewell tour, coming to Modesto’s Gallo Center for the Arts. That show is just one of several entertainment options planned in the region from Nov. 1-7.
Righteous Brothers farewell
Expect a nostalgic concert at the “Lovin’ Feelin’ Farewell Tour” from the legendary The Righteous Brothers — Bill Medley and Bucky Heard. The concert promises to span the early days of rock ’n’ roll, the era of blue-eyed soul and the movie “Dirty Dancing.” Expect music from ballads to rock anthems.

Cultural celebration
Mariachi Garibaldi by Jaime Cuéllar and Ballet Folklorico del Rio Grande present a show at the Gallo Center, a celebration of life with music, dance, costumes and a virtual altar to honor the dead. The show featuring Mexico’s cultural heritage blends traditional dance with storytelling and music.

Riverbank Día de los Muertos
The city of Riverbank will hold a Día de los Muertos celebration. A community altar will be available, and people can drop off photos for inclusion at the city’s Parks & Recreation Department office or email them to jmontanez@riverbank.org. There also will be a Catrín & Catrina contest, live music, ballet folklórico, food and cultural vendors.

Lakewood Día de los Muertos
Lakewood Memorial Park & Funeral Home invites the community to its annual family-friendly Día de los Muertos celebration. There will be vendors, food trucks, games of lotería (Mexican bingo), a hayride, activities for children, a cake walk and live entertainment. A Catholic Mass will take place at 4 p.m. to honor the lives of deceased loved ones.

“Sincerely, Sondheim”
Nicholas Rodriguez brings “Sincerely, Sondheim” to the Gallo Center. Rodriguez celebrates the music of Stephen Sondheim (“Sunday in the Park with George,” “West Side Story,” “Sweeney Todd,” “Into the Woods” and much more) with this new concert, “a nod to both the lyrical and musical genius of the late composer and his reputation for his renowned penmanship,” according to the theater’s website.

“One Night of Queen”
Celebrating more than 20 years, Gary Mullen & The Works — Mullen, David Brockett, Billy Moffat, Malcolm Gentles and Jon Halliwell — brings its two-hour Queen tribute concert, “One Night of Queen,” to the Gallo Center. The group has entertained at the Gallo Center four previous times, “making it the most popular tribute concert in our history,” according to the theater’s website.

75th Anniversary Celebration

Tommy Castro
Multiple award-winning, California-based blues and rock musician Tommy Castro and his band The Painkillers bring the “Closer to the Bone” tour to the State Theatre. Castro released 17 previous albums over his four-decade career, ranging from R&B to blues and soul to rock ‘n’ roll. With his latest album, “Closer To The Bone,” he has returned to his blues roots.

A Celebration of the Moments concert
Presented by Bristol Hospice, the concert is “for bereaved families in our community dealing with loss, traumatic grief and multiple losses and living in the aftermath,” according to a news release. “It’s the belief that through music and art these individuals might be inspired and find hope, peace, and healing.” Performers will include the Stockton Chorale, the Stockton Bukkyo Taiko and the Manteca Son Dance Christian Dance School.
