Red carpet: Local director’s film to screen in Modesto. Latin Kings of Comedy in Turlock
The red carpet will be rolled out this weekend at the State Theatre in Modesto for local director Andrew Chandra’s film “Two Million.” In addition, the Latin Kings of Comedy are set to play at Turlock Community Theatre. Those are just two of the entertainment options in the Modesto region for July 23-29.

The State Theatre will hold a red carpet premiere of the film “Two Million” by local director Andrew Chandra. Cast, crew and director are expected to attend the Saturday evening event. The movie is the story of a rich family’s son, who is kidnapped. When a partnership deal goes wrong with a rival, an unexpected debt must be paid.

Latin Kings of Comedy

“Annie”
YES Company continues its production of the hit Broadway musical “Annie” at the Gallo Center for the Arts. The Youth Entertainment Stage Company show carries a cast of 63 Modesto area students in junior high and high school. The Tony-winning Broadway production features popular songs including “Tomorrow.”

Sierra Repertory Theatre presents “Sh-Boom! Life Could Be a Dream” in Sonora. It’s the story of Denny and the Dreamers, a fledgling doo-wop group preparing to enter the Big Whopper Radio contest and make it into the big time.
