Modesto native Jeremy Renner on HGTV for renovation help
Modesto native Jeremy Renner will be back on TV this month – this time with his mom.
The two-time Academy Award nominee and Beyer High grad will be on an episode of the HGTV series “Celebrity IOU.”
The series stars brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott, HGTV regulars, who help celebrities with renovations, according to the cable channel’s website.
Dubbed a “Mom Renner-vation” on the website, Renner seeks the brothers’ help in Los Angeles to transform his mom’s “dated condo into a modern-meets-cozy oasis where she can entertain the family and host sleepovers with her grandchildren.”
The website lists the episode as slated to air May 18-21 and May 23-June 14.
“Celebrity IOU” is a new HGTV series where Hollywood A-listers thank people “who have had a major impact on their lives by surprising them with big, heartwarming home renovations that bring everyone to tears,” according to the website.
The show premiered in April with the Scott brothers, who help each celebrity with their renovation.
Renner was nominated for Oscars for his roles in the films “The Hurt Locker” and “The Town.” He’s starred as Hawkeye in “The Avengers” movie franchise as well as several other high-profile films.
Along with Renner, the season’s lineup of stars includes actress Melissa McCarthy; actress Viola Davis; actress Rebel Wilson; and singer-songwriter Michael Bublé.
