Welcome home, champs! Oakdale football team back in town

Just about all of Oakdale took to the streets to welcome home its victorious football team, which convincingly defeated Southern California champ Bishop’s 47-0 to capture the CIF Division III-A championship Saturday in La Jolla. It’s the first state bowl victory for the Mustangs, one of the Stanislaus District’s most successful programs during the past decade under head coach Trent Merzon.
