Carol Campodonica: Progressives have cost jobs, discouraged many Americans
What is a Progressive? Progressives claim they are for Progress, but instead their policies are regressive. In fact, we have 89 million people working while 150 million people in the U.S. have given up because they can’t find jobs. Why are there so many empty buildings across America? Progressive policies have closed businesses due to high taxes. They created part-time jobs rather than supporting 40-hour-a-week jobs. Adults find it difficult in providing monthly housing, food, clothes and fuel expenses for their family. In addition, Progressives are regressive when it comes to creating an abundance of water storage for California farmers even though a measure passed on the ballot.
In creating a stumbling block, Progressives refuse to allow drilling in the nation or on the shorelines across America. The building of the Keystone Pipeline is a factor that Progressives would like to stop. Again, jobs are lost.
Saudi Arabia is dumping oil to lower fuel prices and kill jobs.
Progressives have closed coal mines that create cheaper electricity and eradicated jobs. A progressive chips away at capitalism by destroying jobs, lifestyle and motivation.

Editor’s note: According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ December report (www.bls.gov), 8.7 million people are unemployed in the United States and another 740,000 are “discouraged workers” no longer looking for work. The number of people with jobs was reported at 147 million.
