Felon carrying loaded pistol arrested in Oakdale, police say

A convicted felon was arrested Monday after he was found carrying a loaded pistol in his pocket, according to the Oakdale Police Department Facebook page.

Police received a report at 1:30 a.m. that Monte Gayton was carrying a firearm at Ryderz Bar. Police contacted Gayton, a convicted felon, as he walked outside and recovered the loaded pistol from a pocket in his pants, the post said.

The firearm had been reported stolen to the Modesto Police Department, the Facebook post said.
