Willie Nelson

Country music legend Willie Nelson returns to the Central Valley. The Red Headed Stranger is no stranger to the area. Last March he played a show, with his son Lukas Wilson as opener, in Turlock. At age 81, Nelson continues to tour and perform with his longtime band, The Family.

Modesto Performing Arts

Modesto Performing Arts puts on its annual children’s show with an adaptation of the beloved children’s book “Charlotte’s Web.” The E.B. White tale tells of the unexpected friendship between a pig named Wilbur and a spider named Charlotte. The latter does everything she can to save Wilbur from the chopping block, including writing messages in her web. The stage version also includes the characters of animal lover Fern and rat Templeton, and the Zuckerman and Arables families.

Almond Blossom Show

The Central California Art Association presents its Almond Blossom Member Show. The exhibit will feature a variety of traditional, impressionist and nonobjective works by association members from across the region. The show will be primarily paintings, and most will be available for sale. Some 60 to 100 pieces will be on display.

Lee Rocker

Stray Cats bassist Lee Rocker comes to rock out for a solo show. The rockabilly and pop Grammy-nominated group was founded by Brian Setzer, Slim Jim Phantom and Rocker in 1979. The band sold more than 10 million albums and earned 23 gold and platinum certified records worldwide. Rocker plays the double bass and has released his own solo albums over the years.

Art Space on Main

The new Art Space on Main gallery in downtown Turlock presents the exhibit “Heteroglyphs.” The display, which runs through Feb. 27, features works by California State University, Stanislaus, art professor David Olivant. His pieces consist of assemblages of various materials, such as ceramic figures and plastic tubes. The downtown space is an extension of the university’s art gallery. An opening reception and artist talk will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Lindsey Stirling

YouTube superstar and violin sensation Lindsey Stirling brings her high-energy show to the Gallo Center for the Arts. The former “America’s Got Talent” quarterfinalist has amassed a vast online audience through her YouTube channel. She posts choreographed music videos for original and cover songs that attract millions upon millions of views. Opening will be fellow YouTube performer Megan Nicole.
