CLUB BASKETBALL Preseason basketball training. Our program includes six weeks of fundamental to advanced skill development at Turlock High School on Sundays through Nov. 9. KNIGHT UNDER THE LIGHTS Oct. 23 at Chuck Hughes Stadium at Downey High School. Registration starts at 5 p.m., and the event is from 5:30-7 p.m. Open to all boys and girls grades K-6. Free T-shirts and autographed posters for the first 100 kids. This is the award-winning, community-building, activity-based program, organized and run by Downey’s varsity football team.


LADIES, JUNIOR CLINICS Dana Arnold-Ebster offers clinics for women of all ages and ability on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the McHenry Golf Center. Also offered are clinics for juniors ages 4-12 on Saturdays from 9:30-10:30 a.m. The clinics cover the full swing, putting, chipping, pitching, bunker play, rules and etiquette. PACIFIC COAST VOLLEYBALL CLUB New club co-founded by Modesto Junior College coach Tiger Shelton. Coaching staff includes former Stanford setter Katie Goldhahn and former Long Beach State player Brad Friesen.
