Tony Schumacher, who had his streak of National Hot Rod Association victories in the Top Fuel class snapped on Sunday, is the third-quarter winner in the Driver of the Year voting, with Jimmie Johnson second.
Schumacher won all seven races held during the quarter in which the voting took place.
That stretch ended with his win in the inaugural Carolina Nationals at zMax Dragway @ Concord, which was Schumacher's 12th victory this year and the 53rd of his career, pushing him past Joe Amato to No. 1 on the all-time Top Fuel list.
