Jeff Burton brought his No. 31 Chevrolet home sixth on Sunday and remains first in the Sprint Cup standings, 59 points ahead of Richard Childress Racing teammate Kevin Harvick.
“We struggled,” Burton said. “Sometimes we were really good, other times we weren’t.
"Every time we came out of the pits the car drove differently. I’m not real sure we understand that.
"But we’re plugging away. ... We’re good, we’re not just great. We’ve got to keep digging.”
Burton now has five straight top-10 finishes and has not finished worse than 13th this year.
