Kenseth punts Gilliland as his day heads the wrong way

Matt Kenseth got caught up in one too many accidents for his liking on Sunday.

After his second accident, which came on Lap 328 of 500 and started by David Gilliland, Kenseth returned to the track and took out some of his frustrations, punting Gilliland from behind in Turn 2 on Lap 362.

His actions drew a rebuke from NASCAR, which penalized Kenseth two laps for aggressive driving and did not allow him to earn the laps back through the "free pass" to the first car not on the lead lap granted during each caution.

"Every time we made up a little ground, we kept getting wrecked, or wrecked, whatever the case turned out to be," Kenseth said.

He finished 30th and dropped four spots in points to 15th.
