KANSAS CITY, Kansas - Jimmie Johnson crashed the car in which he won the pole for Sunday's LifeLock 400 at Kansas Speedway in the opening moments of Saturday afternoon's final practice.
Johnson lost control of his No. 48 Chevrolet in turns 3 and 4 at the 1.5-mile track. The team immediately pulled its backup car off the transporter and went to work in the garage area, but it was not immediately clear if the team would use the backup or try to repair the primary car.
If the primary car can't be repaired, Johnson would be forced to start from the rear of the field in Sunday's race.
