DOVER, Del. - Michael Waltrip Racing has sponsorship nailed down for two of its three Toyota Nextel Cup Series teams for next season, said Ty Norris, the organization’s general manager.
Primary sponsors are in place for Michael Waltrip’s No. 55 and Dale Jarrett’s No. 44 team. Norris said MWR is still awaiting an answer from co-sponsors Domino’s and Burger King on the No. 00, currently driven by rookie David Reutimann.
“We know we have our work cut out for us. Those two companies are still having internal discussions regarding the level of their involvement in NASCAR next year,” Norris said. “Until they make a decision, we don’t know what part we play in that.
“Obviously, we are talking to a lot of people about primary sponsorships because we don’t know where this is going to land.”
