Truck race rolls off, but Saturday's Cup practices and Truck qualifying are rained out

LOUDON, N.H. - Nextel Cup practice sessions scheduled for Saturday morning at New Hampshire International Speedway were canceled because of rain.

The cars practiced and then qualified on Friday, but now will not get back on the track until the start of Sunday's Sylvania 300. Teams were allowed to continue working on their cars in the garage through early Saturday afternoon.

Qualifying for the New Hampshire 200 race in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series also was rained out. The field for that race, which started just after 3 p.m. Saturday, was set by the rulebook with Ron Hornaday Jr. and Mike Skinner getting the front-row spots.

The forecast for Sunday's Nextel Cup race, scheduled for a start just after 2 p.m., calls for sunny skies with temperatures in the lower 60s.
