Dodge signs off on Kahne's new sponsor, expected to be Budweiser

LOUDON, N.H. – The addition of a new sponsor to Kasey Kahne’s No. 9 Dodge next season will allow Dodge to redirect resources to other aspects of its NASCAR program, Dodge officials say.

On Tuesday, Gillett Evernham Motorsports is expected to announce during a news conference at its headquarters in Statesville, N.C., that Budweiser will sponsor Kahne beginning next season.

Dodge Dealers have sponsored both the Nos. 9 and 19 since team owner Ray Evernham entered Nextel Cup Series competition in 2001.

“Additional sponsorship support of the No. 9 Dodge Avenger, driven by Kasey Kahne, in 2008 gives Dodge the opportunity to redirect valuable resources toward the challenges facing all our teams,” said Mike Accavitti, director of Dodge brand and SRT marketing and communications.

“This does not change our commitment to be the manufacturing leader in NASCAR’s premier series, win races and consistently contend for the Nextel Cup. We now have the opportunity to apply additional resources to areas that can directly impact the on-track performance of all our teams and expand marketing opportunities for our dealers.”
