One thing Jimmie Johnson got to do this week when he visited his hometown of El Cajon, Calif., was pay a visit to his old high school.
“The vice principal is now the principal,” Johnson said of Granite Hills High.
“She treated me well. I had a couple of trips to visit her when I was in trouble and she didn’t rat me out too badly, so it was nice.”
Johnson also got to see some of his former teachers.

“They reminded me that I would say, ‘It’s no big deal, I’m going to be a professional race car driver. I don’t need to worry about my homework,’” Johnson said.
“Thankfully, it all worked out.”
