The Modesto Nuts’ long weekend at The Hangar continued Saturday night.

The Lancaster JetHawks scored in all but three innings and quickly pulled away to an 11-5 win. It was the Nuts’ third straight loss and fifth in the last six.

Modesto, already trailing 5-2, gave up five runs in the fifth on only two Lancaster hits. Starter Parker French (6-9) and relievers Yoely Bello and Logan Cozart helped Lancaster by combining for three walks and two hit batters.

Lancaster’s Jose Hernandez (1-2), promoted last month, made his home debut by striking out 12 over 6 2/3 innings. He gave up five hits and retired his first eight batters.

3 Consecutive losses by Modesto Nuts

Aaron Mizell (4 for 5) and Keach Ballard homered for Lancaster, which homered for the seventh game in a row.

Luis Jean went 2 for 3 with an RBI and Max White went 2 for 4 with an RBI for Modesto.

After trying to avert a four-game Lancaster sweep Sunday night, Modesto has Monday off, then will host Stockton in a three-game series from Tuesday through Thursday.
