FROM THE FORUM
What readers are saying on The Bee's forum at forums.modbee.com:
Edison of Fresno played Merced in Week 2, while Edison was under investigation by the CIF. After it was cleared, the Fresno Bee quoted an Edison math teacher saying that he gave a football player an F grade, which was later changed without his permission to an A. Thursday, the Fresno Bee ran another story where an assistant principal backed up what the teacher was saying:
"What concerns me the most is the CIF Central Section investigated and found nothing wrong. This means that either the CIF is complicate toward one of their premier teams or one or more people that are in a position of power at Edison High School lied to keep a kid eligible and the program afloat. If true, the principal should be removed from his job and have his credentials suspended or revoked. Why do we have a governing body like the CIF if they can't even hold an investigation and find these types of gross infractions? This should carry some stiff penalties for both Edison High School and the district that has employed these people. Most importantly this damages the reputation of any student athlete who has ever attended Edison High School. I feel terrible for the teachers, coaches and students who are doing things the right way." GVENVY

A weekly topic on everybody's predictions for football games involving WAC teams generally spawns discussions about how those teams will finish in league, like this one:
"Gustine will defeat Waterford. They have a renewed spirit and are on a roll. They should do OK in league play, defeating both Livingston and Orestimba, but I think that is where they will end their success. Hilmar has proven themselves to be a good team this year and will not finish less than third. Patterson and CC will take the top two spots." westsidechick
