Big Valley Christian senior continues to score in double figures

SACRAMENTO -- Jared Lunsford's hot streak continues.

The Big Valley Christian High senior guard scored 17 points -- his 11th consecutive game in double figures -- as the Lions toppled Bradshaw Christian 61-41 at Bradshaw Christian on Tuesday night.

Lunsford's teammate Tucker Richardson had 11 points and eight rebounds in the victory.

"Tucker had a great all-around game," Big Valley Christian coach Aaron Filbrun said.

CENTRAL CATHOLIC 41, BUHACH COLONY 30, at Atwater -- Dan Hulst scored 13 points and Dusty Killian added 11 as the Raiders outscored the Thunder 19-3 in the fourth quarter en route to the non-league victory. Braydon Williamson led Buhach Colony with 11 points.

"We threw the ball away, they outrebounded us," Buhach Colony coach Steve Abrams said. "We played extremely sloppy basketball."

ATWATER 57, ESCALON 46, at Atwater -- Sophomore guard Dexter Coward scored 15 points to lead the Falcons past the Cougars in a non-league matchup. Atwater jumped out to a 19-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Armando Becerra led Escalon with 10 points.

CALVARY TEMPLE 72, STONE RIDGE CHRISTIAN 37, at Merced -- Jamal Williams scored 16 points as the Warriors' entire team "had a well-played game" according to coach Chad Johnson in their victory over the Lions. Teammate Marcus Cooley added 10 points for Calvary Temple (3-2). Antonio Foulks led Stone Ridge Christian with 13 points.

ORESTIMBA 85, WATERFORD 79, at Newman -- Craig Beevers scored 20 points and Andrew Godinez and Matt Hurtz added 17 apiece to lead the Warriors to a victory over the Wildcats. Adam Baldwin scored 21 of his game-high 33 points in the first half for Waterford.
