Davis High’s boys basketball team used lopsided second and third quarters to upset playoff-bound Enochs in a Modesto Metro Conference matchup Friday night.
After leading 15-14 after the first quarter, Davis (12-14, 3-10 MMC) outscored Enochs (16-10, 8-5) 14-5 in the second and 19-9 in the third to build a 20-point cushion heading in the fourth quarter.
Talolo Jones led all scorers with 26 points, while teammate Jordan Davis finished with 21.
CENTRAL CATHOLIC 68, OAKDALE 46, at Oakdale – Cooper Wilson scored 20 points to a Valley Oak League victory over the Mustangs. In addition to Wilson’s 20, Jordan Boddie scored 14 and sophomore point guard Jared Rice chipped in with 13. Shane Baxter led Oakdale with 16 points, while Octavio Padio and Nate Van Cleave added 12 apiece.
LE GRAND 51, WATERFORD 46, at Le Grand – The Bulldogs overcame 23 points by Devan Barber to defeat the Wildcats in the Southern League finale for both teams. Rigo Mares paced the Le Grand with 13 points, while Frank Contreras and Beto Marquez chipped in with nine apiece.
MANTECA 61, EAST UNION, at East Union – Ryan Shippley led all scorers with 16 points as Manteca defeated its crosstown rival. Gyse Hulsebosch led the Lancers with 14.
