Beyer High pitcher Kyle Barrett didn't always know where the ball was going Wednesday, but no one was hitting it.
Barrett struck out eight Panthers (1-5 MMC) and walked four in the first four innings and he and Kyle Crawford combined on a five-inning no-hitter as the Patriots (6-0 MMC) defeated Modesto 16-1 in five innings.
Dillon Usiak had a grand slam and five RBIs for Beyer. Mason Ankeney and Josh Shackelford also homered.
ENOCHS 8, DOWNEY 7, at Enochs -- The Eagles (7-11, 2-4 MMC) scored twice in the seventh to top the Knights (3-13, 1-5). J.T. Boles tripled with one out, Travis Edwards' single tied it, Edwards stole second and moved to third on a passed ball and scored on Mike Stewart's single to right.
Boles also doubled and was 4 for 5. Kirk Rocha homered for Downey.
OAKDALE 9, CENTRAL VALLEY 0, at Central Valley -- Justin Jones of the Mustangs (13-2, 5-0 VOL) threw a seven-hitter, struck out nine Hawks (6-11-1, 1-4) and doubled in a run in the first. Jones and Dante Major -- Oakdale's No. 4 and 5 hitters, were a combined 5 for 7 with four RBIs. Justin Boyd was 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs.
SIERRA 12, MANTECA 10, at Sierra -- Catcher Jordan Louie hit two-run double in the sixth to give the Timberwolves (13-4, 5-0 VOL) a 9-8 lead, and they added three big insurance runs in that inning. Andrew Gabriel homered for Sierra. Ricky Acosta and Beau Fryer homered for the Buffaloes (8-9, 2-3).
EAST UNION 8, WESTON RANCH 2, at East Union -- Teddy Anderson's fifth homer of the season, a two-run opposite-field shot to right field in a four-run third, gave the Lancers (6-7, 3-2 VOL) a 6-0 lead and propelled them past the Cougars (1-13, 0-5).
EU's Marshall Swift entered with the bases loaded and no outs in the fourth and got out of the jam with a forceout at the plate, a strikeout and a flyout. He struck out seven in four innings of relief, allowing just one hit.
CENTRAL CATHOLIC 13, GUSTINE 1 (5 innings), at Central Catholic -- Ryan Tiscareno's fifth-inning grand slam ended the game due to the 10-run rule as the Raiders (13-4, 6-0 WAC) drubbed the Redskins (9-5, 4-2). Billy Flamion was 3 for 3 with a triple and three RBIs and pitcher Clay DePauw 3 for 3 with a homer, two doubles and three RBIs.
ORESTIMBA 6, PATTERSON 5, at Orestimba -- The Warriors (4-9, 1-5 WAC) scored the go-ahead run against the Tigers (5-11, 2-4) in the fifth as Andrew Godinez singled, stole second, moved to third on a grounder and scored on a wild pitch. Godinez and teammate Craig Beevers were 3 for 3 -- Beevers had three doubles.
DENAIR 10, WATERFORD 6, at Denair -- Dylen Werner's three-run homer in a five-run fourth gave the Coyotes (9-4, 4-2 SL) an 8-5 lead over the Wildcats (6-9, 3-3). Werner hit a game-winning, three-run homer Friday at Mariposa.
RIVERBANK 5, HUGHSON 4 (10), at Riverbank -- The Bruins (7-7, 3-3 TVL) answered the Huskies' two-run 10th with three in the bottom half to hand Hughson (9-4-2, 5-1) its first league loss. With the bases loaded and one out, a fielder's choice scored one run before Janelle Chambers singled in Jessica Hutson to tie it. Irene Castillo then singled in Heather Carey to win it.
MODESTO CHR. 19, RIPON CHR. 0 (5 innings), at Ripon Christian -- Brittany Thompson had a double and four RBIs and Brittani McGue allowed two hits as MC (12-4, 5-1 TVL) beat RC (1-8, 0-6).
BUHACH COLONY 13, TURLOCK 5, at Buhach Colony -- Brittany Jantz capped a 3-for-3 day with a three-run homer during a five-run sixth that helped the Thunder (12-7, 4-0 CCC) pull away from the Bulldogs (7-9, 1-4). Jantz started with an RBI double in the first, doubled in her next at-bat, drove in four runs and scored three.
SUMMERVILLE 1, BRET HARTE 0 (8 innings), at Summerville -- Erica Yates of the Bears (6-6, 4-2 MLL) led off the eighth with a walk and ended up scoring on a bobbled ground ball.
Kim Pierrazzi of Summerville allowed only a single in the seventh by Sara Wassmund in outdueling Corinne Brick of the Bullfrogs (7-11, 3-3). Both pitchers walked seven. Bret Harte loaded the bases in the seventh, Summerville in the first and second.
CENTRAL CATHOLIC 195, GUSTINE 277, at Forebay GC -- William Bettancourt led the way with an even-par 36 as the Raiders (13-0, 11-0 WAC) trounced the Redskins (0-11 WAC) and broke 200 for the first time this season.
Bettancourt bogeyed No. 1 and birdied No. 8. Victtor Lopez had a 37 and Jacob Smart a 39 for Central.
ESCALON 218, RIPON 249, at Oakdale GCC -- Austin Jackson shot a 1-under-par 35, his best round of the year, to lead the Cougars (12-1, 10-1 TVL) over the Indians (4-7 TVL).
HUGHSON 181, RIVERBANK 216, at River Oaks -- Donnie Flora's windy 1-over 32 helped the Huskies (9-4, 7-4 TVL) top the Bruins (0-11 TVL). Hughson coach Glen Hollenhorst said of Flora, "He's become 'Mr. Consistent.' "
LIVINGSTON 2, ORESTIMBA 1, at Livingston -- With 2 minutes to go, Gloria Garcia scored on a cross from Celeste Aguilar, poking the ball past charging goalie Katrina Lopez, to lift the Wolves (2-5 TVL) over the Warriors (2-4-1).
Sweeper Noemi Vera led the Livingston defense. Lopez made 18 saves.

ESCALON 103, RIPON 33, at Ripon -- Escalon's Greg Schilber had his best discus mark of the year, a league-leading 131-7, in the TVL dual meet.
