Friday's high school results

MANTECA -- It was only five innings, but East Union saw more than enough of Dante Major on Friday.

Major slammed a two-run homer in the first inning and a three-run blast in the fourth to lead the Oakdale High baseball team to an 11-0 mercy-rule win over East Union.

Nick VanderTuig pitched a four-hitter for the Mustangs (12-2, 4-0 Valley Oak League), striking out seven and walking two.

The Lancers dropped to 5-7 overall, 2-2 in league.

MANTECA 12, CENTRAL VALLEY 0 (5 innings), at Central Valley -- Toby Fox of the Buffaloes (8-9-1, 2-2 VOL) threw a five-inning one-hitter at the Hawks (6-10-1, 1-3).

JOHANSEN 12, ENOCHS 6, at Johansen -- Matt Keydeniers' grand slam highlighted an eight-run sixth inning as the Vikings (7-10, 3-2) erased a 6-4 Enochs (6-11, 1-4) lead.

Keydeniers drove in six runs. J.T. Bowles of the Eagles was 3 for 3, tripled, knocked in three runs and scored twice.

DOWNEY 8, MODESTO 7 (8 innings), at Downey -- Hunter Schlander singled in Clay Welch with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth as the Knights (3-12-2, 1-4 Modesto Metro Conference) edged the Panthers (1-4 MMC).

GUSTINE 7, LIVINGSTON 1, at Livingston -- Dan Griset pitched a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts and no walks to lead the Redskins past the Wolves in Western Athletic Conference play.

WATERFORD 9, LE GRAND 1, at Waterford -- Freshman Russell Longworth threw a two-hitter as the Wildcats (6-8, 3-2 Southern League) topped the Bulldogs (4-9, 2-3). He walked two and struck out two. C.J. DeDeaux and Juan Garcia each had a double and three RBIs.

DELHI 5, TURLOCK CHR. 2, at Delhi -- Tim Glenn had two hits and two RBIs, helping the Hawks (1-3 SL) top the Eagles.


MODESTO CHR. 6, ESCALON 2, at Escalon -- Kendell Taylor scattered 10 hits as MC (4-1 Trans-Valley League) topped the Cougars (8-7-1, 3-2). Caitlin Brooks had 14 strikeouts and walked none for Escalon, which committed seven errors.

HUGHSON 12, RIPON CHR. 2 (6 innings), at Hughson -- Krista Bava was 2 for 4 with three RBIs and scored twice, helping the Huskies (9-3-2, 5-0 TVL) top the Knights. Kayla Evans homered for RC.

ORESTIMBA 2, GUSTINE 0, at Orestimba -- Karla Spinelli threw a one-hitter and Juliana Santos had two doubles and drove in a run as the Warriors (14-3, 5-0 WAC) defeated the Redskins.

LINDEN 1, SUMMERVILLE 0, at Summerville -- Audrianna Solari of Linden (3-1 Mother Lode League) threw a one-hitter with 16 strikeouts. Sanchez singled in the fourth and scored after a passed ball and two fielder's choices. Sloan Hanna's double was the only Summerville hit.

PATTERSON 3, ORESTIMBA 0 -- Jeanette Ortega scored twice and goalkeeper Ellen Miranda made four saves as the Tigers (7-6-1, 3-2-1 WAC) defeated the Warriors (2-3-1 WAC).

CENTRAL CATHOLIC 7, GUSTINE 0, at Central Catholic -- The Raiders (10-4-1, 6-0 WAC) held the Redskins to just one shot on goal to 23 for Central. Liz Victorino scored one of her two goals on a header off a corner kick from Kendall Wesenberg, and Ronnie Biscevic and Stephanie Manseau also scored twice.
