Senior captain Abby Thomas scored nine of her 13 points in the fourth quarter in leading Hughson to a 48-40 win over visiting Ripon Christian on Monday.
The Huskies (16-7, 9-5 Trans-Valley League) outscored the Knights (14-11, 8-6) to clinch second place in the league. Madelyn Birchall had 13 points and 10 rebounds for Hughson, which celebrated senior night.
Ripon Christian made a game of it by trimming eight points off a 12-point halftime deficit. Briana Devries led the Knights with 12 points.
ESCALON 54, RIVERBANK 45, at Riverbank -- The Cougars outscored the Bruins 17-11 in the final quarter for the win.
MODESTO CHRISTIAN 68, RIPON 40, at Salida -- Junior forward Lauren Lucchesi scored a career-high 27 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lift the Crusaders (23-3, 14-0) past the Indians (8-17, 6-8).
TURLOCK CHRISTIAN 59, DENAIR 47, at Turlock -- The Eagles (16-10, 9-5) broke out to a 16-3 lead after the first quarter and cruised from there against the Coyotes (5-22, 2-12). Greta Gonzalez paced Turlock Christian with 15 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots.
LE GRAND 44, MARIPOSA 24, at Le Grand -- Jennifer Hansen and Veronica Moreno each had eight points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs (18-4, 14-0), who trailed the Grizzlies (9-4) 18-17 after the first half. Le Grand outscored Mariposa 27-6 the rest of the way.
"We had a cold shooting start," Le Grand coach Danny Crosby said. "It was good to give the girls a wake-up call. We picked up the defensive intensity in the second half."

HILMAR 36, CENTRAL CATHOLIC 26, at Modesto -- The Yellowjackets (19-5, 11-3) held the Raiders (8-19, 3-11) to two points in the first quarter.
ORESTIMBA 57, GUSTINE 26, at Newman -- The Warriors (9-17, 5-9) got solid play from point guard Samantha Huerta -- 16 points, nine steals, six assists -- in an easy win over the Redskins (4-19, 0-14).
