MORELIA, Mexico -- Matt Bettencourt of Modesto fired a final-round 70 to finish at 285 and tie with two others for 29th place at the Nationwide Tour's Mexico Open on Sunday. Bettencourt took home $4,292 for his effort.
Jarrod Lyle won the event, shooting a 63 Sunday to finish at 267 on the Tres Marias Golf Club course. He earned $112,500.
WOMEN'S AUSTRALIAN OPEN, at Melbourne -- Australian star Karrie Webb won her fourth Women's Australian Open title, beating South Korea's Shin Ji-yai with a 10-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole.
Webb, the winner last year at Royal Sydney, and Shin closed with 6-under 67s at Kingston Heath golf course to finish at 8-under 284. Webb birdied the 16th and 17th holes in regulation to force the playoff.
