SACRAMENTO - Chris Webber has come full circle. The former Kings All-Star signed today with the Golden State Warriors, with whom he began his NBA career in 1993, The Sacramento Bee has learned from two sources familiar with the negotiations.
Webber will earn a pro-rated portion of the league veterans' minimum, which is $1.2 million for a full season, according to the sources.
Webber's re-signing with the Warriors reunites him with coach Don Nelson, with whom the player feuded in each's first go-round with Golden State.
After winning Rookie of the Year honors for a 50-win, playoff Warriors team, Webber forced a trade to Washington, and the Warriors spiraled. Nelson was fired midway through the 1994-95 season, and the team didn't return the playoffs until last year - a 12-year absence.
