STOCKTON -- The Weston Ranch boys basketball team came into Wednesday's game with a perfect record in Valley Oak League play.
At night's end, the Cougars were still unbeaten.
James Nunnally had 17 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists to lead Weston Ranch to a 75-69 victory over Manteca.
Chris Gray got the ball rolling for Weston Ranch, scoring 10 points in the first quarter to help the Cougars (13-5, 5-0) jump out to a 21-9 lead. Gray finished with 15 points, and Weston Ranch took a 35-23 lead into the break.

Manteca showed in the second half that its wasn't just going to go away.
The Buffaloes' deficit grew to 17 after three quarters, but Manteca's Chris Scheible took over in the fourth. He scored 15 of his game-high 25 points in the quarter, helping the Buffaloes (6-12, 2-3) pull to within four.
However, Manteca would get no closer, and Weston Ranch now looks to remain unblemished in league play when they face Sierra on Friday.
SONORA 46, CERES 42, at Sonora -- Brenden Evans scored 18 points to help the Wildcats (10-8, 3-2) defeat the Bulldogs. Brett Sayad had 19 points, including three free throws with 39 seconds left to play, to pull Ceres (10-8, 3-2) within two, but Sonora sealed the win with two free throws.
SIERRA 46, EAST UNION 17, at Sierra -- the Timberwolves (14-3, 4-1) held the Lancers (1-4) scoreless in the third quarter and outscored them 30-5 in the second half.
Central California Conference
MERCED 66, TURLOCK 60, at Turlock -- Allen Huddleston Jr. scored a game-high 39 points and converted on 12 of 13 attempts from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter to help the Bears (4-0) hold off the Bulldogs (2-2).
Jarrett Sparks scored 18 points for Merced. Travis Souza's 16 points led Turlock, which also go 14 from Eric Wetzel.
LOS BANOS 56, BUHACH COLONY 47, at Turlock -- Andre Jones scored a game-high 18 points, including four 3-pointers, Andre Gutierrez had 17, and the Tigers made 14 of 18 free throw attempts to beat the Thunder.
Hodari Peterson's 15 points paced Buhach Colony, which led 26-25 at the half.
GOLDEN VALLEY 62, ATWATER 31, at Merced -- The Cougars led 11-1 in the game's first minute and outscored the Falcons 28-4 in the opening quarter in a CCC rout.
Liautaud Prophete scored 20 points, including three 3-pointers, and Damarya Moody 18 for Golden Valley (10-11, 2-3). Prophete and Moody scored 10 points apiece in the first quarter.
The Falcons fell to 0-4 in league play.
Southern League Girls
LE GRAND 58, DENAIR 36, at Le Grand -- Jennifer Hansen scored 13 of her 15 points in the first half and added 13 rebounds for her 13th double-double of the season in the Bulldogs' (12-4, 6-0) win over the Coyotes (0-6).
LIVINGSTON 39, PATTERSON 36, at Livingston -- Trailing by 12, the Wolves needed to win the final three matches to earn the victory. Derek Castrejon (135), Eppie Villalobos (140) and Jesus Gutierrez (145) all did their job to help their team pin down a win over the Tigers.
WATERFORD 42, HUGHSON 33, at Waterford -- The Wildcats defeated the Huskies with three pins and three forfeits. In all, Waterford won eight of 14 matches.
RIPON 51, MARIPOSA 26, at Ripon -- The Indians won nine of the 14 matches, including two by forfeit, in a victory over the Grizzlies.
HILMAR 56, GUSTINE 14, at Hilmar -- The Yellowjackets dominated on the mat, winning 10 matches to hand the Redskins (3-1) their first loss of the season. Hilmar (1-3) was aided by five Gustine forfeits.
