Local Digest: Enochs wins in 5 over Davis

Host Enochs High came back from a 2-1 deficit to beat Davis 3-2 in a Modesto Metro Conference volleyball match Monday night.

The Eagles (2-6 MMC), a first-year varsity team that has no seniors and only four juniors, beat the Spartans (0-8) 21-25, 25-19, 17-25, 25-16, 15-12.

Davis rallied from 5-1 down in Game 5 to tie it 12-12 before Enochs won.

"It was a good lesson knowing we can go five and win," Enochs coach Jessica Harty said. "Lacking that senior leadership, to win a game in five is kind of a milestone for a team competing in varsity for its first year."
