MANTECA -- East Union High junior Krysta Clark fired a 1-over-par 73 to earn the medalist honor and help lead the Lancers to the team title at the second annual Sierra High Girls Golf Invitational on Wednesday at Manteca Park.
East Union, undefeated this season, shot a team score of 423 to edge McClatchy of Sacramento's 426.
Clark held off Sierra's Julie Shutler (76), Beyer's Katie Canadas (77) and the Johansen duo of Christine Uhalde (78) and Allyssa Pena (81).
Clark was poised for an amazing score. Teeing off on No. 4 in a shotgun start, she was 4 under with six holes to go. But she double-bogeyed the par-5 16th and limped in from there.

"We had some slow play, and I lost a little focus," Clark said. "But I'm just happy to see our team play so well at our home course. It's awesome to win in Manteca."
The Lancers have been turning in low scores this season. They won the Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV title last year, and nearly every player is back.
"It's nice that we had a good gallery; this is a lot of fun," Clark said. "The big stuff for us is yet to come. We want to do well at our league tournaments, sections, and hopefully beyond that."
