COALINGA -- Bye-bye, nonleague. It wasn't nice knowing ya.
The Modesto Junior College football team finished the non-conference portion of its schedule with a 1-4 record after Saturday's 45-28 loss to West Hills.
Falcons quarterback Jayson Tyler threw for more than 400 yards and three touchdowns and ran for two more, both 1-yard scores.
Tyler connected with Kewasaki Jackson on a 57-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, on a drive helped by a Modesto pass interference call that moved the ball forward 15 yards.

Tyler hardly needed the help. He hit Gregg Penn for an 18-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter and his 29-yard touchdown pass to Lance Lewis early in the third put the Falcons (2-3) ahead 21-7.
Tyler completed 25 of 39 passes for 407 yards. He also ran for 19 yards on seven carries.
Marquell Colston was a workhorse for the Pirates, carrying the ball 34 times for 156 yards.
He had 15 carries in the first quarter, including five failed dives into the end zone. The West Hills defense denied Colston twice from a yard out. Modesto tried to score on fourth down late in the first quarter, but Colston got nowhere and West Hills took over on downs.
The Pirates got the ball right back, though, forcing the Falcons to fumble on the first play. Again, Colston tried to punch the ball across the goal line, but he was stopped three more times. On fourth down, Colston leaped over the pile on a fake, and quarterback Chad Draper scored by sweeping to the left. That tied the game at 7-7 with 1:20 left in the first quarter.
Colston eventually scored with 1:12 left in the third quarter, racing for a 38-yard touchdown run. That pulled the Pirates to 28-21, but West Hills continued to score almost at will.
The Falcons scored on their next three possessions and Modesto would score just once more. Draper found Marcus Allen in the front corner of the end zone on the Modesto sideline for a 13-yard touchdown pass with 6:18 to play.
It was Draper's second scoring pass of the game. He also connected with Micah Costello for a 24-yard touchdown.
West Hills netted 491 yards to Modesto's 353. Draper completed 18 of 39 passes for 189 yards. Allen caught six of those passes for 79 yards. Nick Reed caught seven passes for 50 yards.
The Pirates play host to Hartnell to start the Golden Gate Conference on Oct. 13.
