EU star's 29 leads to victory

CERES -- East Union High's Krysta Clark shot a 2-under-par 29 and the rest of the team shot in the 30s Thursday as the Lancers took down Central Valley 177-250 at River Oaks Golf Course.

Clark's under-par round was her fifth of the season for East Union, which improved to 9-0 in Valley Oak League play and 13-0 overall.

"She's showing everybody that it's possible to be a great player," EU coach Brian Goulart said.

Clark was 15 yards out on the final hole and hit a lob wedge to within 3 feet and made the birdie.

"I was hoping to shoot par," she said. "But this worked out better."

Brooke Davis led Central Valley with a 41.

Amanda Agostini had East Union's next best round with a 36, Ellen Parker and Briona Goulart each shot 37 and Lindsay Shoot fired a 38.

The greens on the back nine at River Oaks were being sanded, so the most putts a player could have on a hole was two.
