If you saw a bunch of smoke south of Turlock near Highway 99 Monday night, don’t worry.

Six Stanislaus County fire agencies were conducting a training burn off South Golden State Boulevard and Nowlin Court, said Deputy Royjindar Singh, a Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department spokesman.

The roughly 40-acre burn east of the highway was conducted from 6-10 p.m., and included firefighters from the Turlock Rural, Denair, Mountain View, Keyes, Ceres and Turlock fire departments.

Firefighters were practing their mobile attacks and different techniques they use in the field.
