Coroner identifies 4 victims of dirt bike accident near Ceres

The Stanislaus County coroner’s office today released the names of the four people killed in what appears to have been a collision between two motorcycles in a rural area south of Ceres.

The bodies were identified as those of Thomas Moore, 33, of Ceres; his wife, 30-year-old Kelly Moore; his sister, Cynthia Moore, 29, of Ceres; and Michael Stokes, 33, of Ceres. Deputy Coroner Katie Soto released the names.

Someone who lives nearby found the bodies about 8:20 a.m. Sunday on a dirt road northwest of Crows Landing and West Taylor Roads, according to California Highway Patrol officer Brandon Moore, who is not related to the victims.

The dirt road comes off a canal bank. Investigators believe the bikes collided between 1:30 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. Sunday, based on accounts from residents who said they heard motorcycles about then.
