Accidents reported on 108 turnout to be single spinout, no crash

A collision reported in the Highway 108 in the Sonora area this morning appears to have been a spinout without a crash, according to the Highway Patrol.

By the time officers arrived at Soulsbyville Road the dark colored sport utility vehicle was gone, said officer Tom Wills. But he said icy conditions remain the foothills and that drivers should use caution. Chain controls are in effect on Highway 108 at Sierra Village. It didn't snow last night, but it is expected to today, he said.

The spinout was originally reported at 7:06 a.m. and had also been reported at Allison Way.
