Re “Would state endure amid megadrought?” (Page A1, Oct. 8): Once more The Bee has added to the problem of the “Water Crisis.”
This story is incomplete since it does not address the wells that have been draining the aquifers of the San Joaquin Valley. The story paints a picture of rivers drying up and fish disappearing; of farmers using reduced water supplies to keep growing the most profitable fruits, nuts and vegetables. Corporate farmers will continue to pump and the rest of us will pay to fix the roads, canals, bridges, water lines, gas lines, sewer lines and anything that is buried underground.
