Denny Jackman: Lets keep land-use debate civil

There is no reason to demonize those who think differently than I over land-use issues. So, I won’t. My position does not go up by putting another position down. So why do it? We who have been on the front lines of the land-use debate in Stanislaus County know one another and respect the roles we play. The devil is only in the details. My adversaries and advocates are of similar moral character. If we are to build a better community, we need more intelligence and less insult. We need more character building and less character assassination. We need more emphasis on “we.” Indeed, it is the definition of community.
